Visharad Anusha Malwatta
Headmistress

Vishrad Anusha Malwatta is a talented former music teacher at Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo, and is currently based in London. With a passion for both education and the arts, she has worked as an artist and educational music programmer for radio and television. Her extensive experience in the music industry, combined with her dedication to educating the next generation of musicians, has made her a respected figure in both the local and international music scenes.

Thisaranie Malwatta, one of the youngest Visharad degree holders in Sri Lanka, has cultivated a deep passion for both Hindustani Classical and Western Classical music, exploring diverse world music styles. A skilled multi-instrumentalist, she is dedicated to sharing her expertise by teaching students at the Sri Lankan Music Academy.

Naveen Malwatta is passionate about teaching guitar, tabla, and singing. Earning his Visharad degree at just 15, he has since dedicated his musical journey to inspiring and educating the next generation of musicians.

Through this project, we hope to open doors to our singing talents by connecting with our motherland, its heritage, its culture. Among these, we learn to explore and understand the vast fields of music – its various characteristics, vocal styles, rhythms and beats. Most importantly, this opportunity brought my beloved childhood friend “music” back to me once again.
